When you commit the Universe conspires to assist

Thank you, Barbra, since reading about this in your book My name is Barbra, I was curious to see what would happen if I truly committed to consulting as a career, and you were right! I feel the universe is conspiring to assist! It’s only been a few weeks since I took the ferry from Cape May to Lewes for a networking trip and sanity check. This provided a different viewpoint from a seasoned, and admired quality consultant with a successful career still going strong. Their fresh perspective encouraged me to believe in myself and post on LinkedIn announcing my new chapter. The challenge here was that I’ve been so out of LinkedIn for a while with my head buried in a full-on career, married life, two high school kids (once just left to college), and two mini Bernedoodles (proof that Covid had its influence there too). Add in the joy and juggle of international family life across three countries — plus a few bumps along the way — and LinkedIn simply fell off the radar.
But I continued to commit and posted on LinkedIn, that sparked a few “likes”, some kind words of encouragement and a networking coffee in Devon with an ex-colleague. Their guidance and shared current knowledge on the current consulting landscape was exactly what I needed. But then came the gentle nudge to start blogging and posting articles which is SO out of my comfort zone but I’m doing it to. I can still feel the universe conspiring to assist as there have been a few positive signs brewing that this might work out for the best.
Thank you also, Phil, Andy and to all my network! Stay curious, commit — and let the universe do its part.!

Cape May–Lewes Ferry arriving in Lewes. In-person networking is always worth the effort — just remember to check what’s happening locally before you go. My trip coincided with the Cape May Bikers Festival, making the 9:30 a.m. crossing lively and unforgettable — whales included. 🐋🚢

Good luck Fiona :):) loved reading this post I am sure you will do well xx
